Greg's Photo Album # 2!

All these photos were taken between February 6th and February 15th 1994. Two planes, two instructors (myself one of them) and four students travelled from Hoxton Park (Sydney) to Broken Hill, Oodnadatta, Ayers Rock (Uluru), Alice Springs, Mount Isa, Longreach, Townsville, Coolangatta and then back to Sydney

Flying abeam Lake Fromme - an inland salt lake

Not cloud, but Lake Eyre North - another inland salt lake

getting closer!

Some of the amazing scenery along the way.....

Oodnadatta, fly over the town and the re-fueler will be there when you land - He was! Never been to such a hot place! Quickest turn around in the whole trip - Under 30 minutes!

We made it to Ayres Rock just before the sunset!

In the other direction are the Olgas

A close up of Ayers Rock

It was hotter than 35 degrees. So, we couldn't climb the rock! Having done it once before I wasn't that upset!

"Hey, I've got a great idea, I'll stand on the railing and you can take my picture. Now, hurry up and take the pic... - Too late!"

Ayers Rock

Myself, Kirk Harrison, Phil Usher, Panjan Nagaratnam, Frank Pennings and Richard Eldridge

A house in the middle of nowhere. (Literally!)

Lets go AROUND the dust storm!

Phew! Made it on the ground (Alice Springs) before the dust storm got here!

Looks like the tides out! - has been for millions of years!

There's an old meteorite crater in this photo. Can you find it??

On the ground at Anitowa (between Alice Springs and Mount Isa) waiting for VH-UMT!

VH-UMT finally arrives after a minor diversion in flight!

See all the grass on the runway in the previous shot? Well, you can't see it from the air!

Final Approach into Mount Isa

A road train, also on final approach into Mount Isa!

Who YOU looking at???

A Cassowary - these things can kill a person!

An emu - Don't stick your fingers too close to the fence!

Who in their right mind would take on a croc this size (or any size!) with nothing but a humble garden rake????
